It’s about time Flatiron got its own gentlemen’s lounge-esque, art-inspired cluster of fabulous dining rooms. Stephen Starr and British culinary counterpart Jason Atherton have teamed up with Ian Schrager’s New York EDITION to bring this timeless restaurant to life, tucked away in the second floor of the grand hotel. Moody hues and muted elegance give the labyrinth of rooms a subterranean feel, from the bar area’s dark, soaring ceilings to the violet billiards room and color-coded dining parlors flanking one another, each offering a distinctly different view than the next. Let’s get down to business: with a burger rivaling its Danny Meyer neighbor and a cocktail menu perfectly suited to the era so poignantly emanated by the décor, it’s safe to say that this neighborhood newcomer has hit the nail on the head on all counts.
