This Meyer/Anderer venture holds down our number one spot with its reinvented Roman cuisine and warmly convivial ethos. Embodying the traditional trattoria style of central Italy, Maialino adds a soulfully casual element to the bohemian opulence of the Gramercy Park Hotel, sealing the deal with a killer view of the park. Go for the malfatti al Maialino, Chef Anderer's signature and a crowd-pleasing house staple.

The brainchild of Queens native Mario Carbone and his Major Food cohorts is the ultimate reincarnation of old-world fine dining, brought to life in a modern city setting. With a no-frills pasta roster, unmistakable Godfather-inspired flooring, and a wine program second to none, Carbone is the total package. Head next door for an after-dinner cocktail at sister spot ZZ's (if the doorman's feeling generous, that is).

Rich Torrisi, Mario Carbone, and Jeff Zalaznick along with renowned architect Renzo Piano bring this glass-ensconced beauty to the High Line, drawing inspiration from the neighborhood’s rich history and featuring signature dishes Italian in spirit and modern in execution. Sipping meloncello beneath Murano chandeliers never sounded so good.
